2025 Honda Civic Engine Claims a Prestigious Award

The two-motor hybrid system for the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan and Hatchback was named in Wards 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems. This isn’t the first time the engine has been an award winner. It was named in this same award the previous year.

The Honda Engine

The fourth-generation hybrid system from Honda provides efficient power without compromising performance. The system also doesn’t take up any extra passenger or cargo space, making it a popular choice. A variation of the system is also found in the Honda CR-V and Accord. As a result, the Honda CR-V was the best-selling hybrid vehicle in America and the Accord hybrid sedan held the same honor as the best-selling hybrid car.

The two-motor hybrid system is built in Ohio at the Honda Transmission Plant. The engine is mated with the 2.0L Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine, which is a new addition to the Civic and is also built in Ohio. The engine has been updated with all major components being redesigned with a stronger block.
