Power Like Never Before

For 2023, the Honda CR-V will be offered with a hybrid powertrain and a traditional gas-only engine. The hybrid model will feature considerable improvements, using a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors. Just one electric motor will provide more torque than before for smoother acceleration, with 204 horsepower for the hybrid powertrain. When it comes to the gas-only powertrain, it has a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine making 190 horsepower. This 1.5-liter turbo-four will be paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission to reduce excessive vibration and noise inside the vehicle.

Rugged Exterior Design

The Honda CR-V will get a more modernized look for 2023, with a new front grille design and a more chiseled overall body style. Other features for the redesigned CR-V include new front and rear lighting with thinner and sleeker headlights. When it comes to the taillights, they remain similar to the current design with the vertical configuration running up the body and tailgate. The wheelbase of the 2023 Honda CR-V is 1.6 inches longer than the previous model, increasing the length by 2.7 inches, and is also 0.4 inches wider as well. The redesigned CR-V will wear either 18-inch or 19-inch wheels, depending on the trim.

Elegant Interior

The most notable updates to Honda’s CR-V can be seen inside the cabin. Across the dashboard, the 2023 CR-V will have a new honeycomb element that hides the air vents. Higher trim levels will feature leather upholstery with orange stitching. EX-L and Sport Touring models will get a 9.0-inch touchscreen display, while a 7.0-inch display is standard in EX and Sport trims. Also standard are Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while trim levels with larger screen displays get wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, and an available 12-speaker Bose audio system.

Advanced Safety

When it comes to safety, the 2023 Honda CR-V will include Honda Sensing, a suite of advanced safety and driver assist features. No matter the trim level, the CR-V will feature lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed following. Newly standard safety features included on this SUV are rear seatbelt monitors, a rear seat reminder, and a driver attention monitor. Honda’s CR-Vs have a strong reputation when it comes to safety on the road. For 2022, the CR-V received an overall five out of five stars as a safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. With this in mind, it can be assumed that the 2023 model will have similar safety scores from the NHTSA.
